The Arts

Here at Albany Kindergarten we value the many creative ways in which children express their ideas and thinking through visual arts.  We know that, ‘the arts’ provide a myriad of opportunities for children to explore, to deconstruct and reconstruct their thinking and make sense of the world around them.

We recognise that there are many ways for children to show such thinking. As a result the environment and materials that are provided here at Albany Kindergarten are carefully considered to encourage a ‘culture of thinking’ to evolve.

“Visual arts have a high profile and are use effectively to reflect the cultural diversity of the kindergarten. Children choose from exciting, inviting and thoughtfully resourced areas that inspire child-initiated learning and support sustained play. Children are curious and confident, with a strong sense of belonging and enthusiasm for learning.” ERO Report February 2015
