The art of sharing food creates a ‘new dynamic cultural space’ where coming together offers the opportunity to get to know more about each other. In these moments rich and rewarding connections can be made.
On Friday our student teacher Christine made some delicious dumplings with the children.
First the dough was rolled out, then filled with the pork, shrimp and chive filling.
Christine had many helpers in preparing the food and shared with us how she made dumplings at home with her mother and grandmother when she was little. She now passes on this knowledge to her own children…

At the end of the session the children and parents had the opportunity to sample these delicious treats…
Some of the teacher’s even had them for their dinner that night as well!
